A colored Mormon appealed to Brigham Young before he died, for permission to take another wife. But Young told him no, not yet: that the negro race was under a curse. Jesus Christ will return soon and remove the curse, than the negro Mormons could marry as many wives as they desired, but they must wait till Christ removed the curse under which they labored.
