To President B. Young Sir since we have been here we have enjoyed health and peace among ourselves and peace with our neighbors the Indians on the evening of the 7th inst an indian from Goships band came here to make peace with the indians here, and had we not protected him they would have killed him. Little Chief is situated about 1/2 mile below us on the Creek and this morning about breakfast time we heard the firing of guns in that direction and soon found they had been attacked by One Ship and Goship's band the result of the battle was that Little Chiefs son got shot through the arm theey killed two horses and wounded two men and drove off all their horses and one or two of ours Now Little <Chief> says if we are his friends he wants us to proove it by getting back their horses for them Now we wish you would give us some council concerning the matter John L. Higbee Pres Isaac Higbee Clerk
