The author's final combination of Ham, son of Noah, with *Hammu, and his derivation of the names of the Armenian city of Amedi-Amida and the Syrian Hums-Emesa from *Hammu are somewhat disconcerting but can scarcely be refuted, since even plausible etymologies are wanting.
