Transcription

Walker says that if we had not come, the Sandpitches would all have died, and a great shame of his people also, now if the Mormons had butchered enough of their best cattle to have made themselves comfortable, and helped the Natives some, would the Lord have taken the course he has to show the Mormons the effects of a courteous principle and teach them, that the liberal soul is made fat all the day long. I do not write to instruct my teachers, but that you would bear with me a little in my folly, and indeed bear with me. We are glad to have it to say that Walker and his people are on the most friendly terms
