And when the editor of the Old School Democrat undertakes to cry gentleman of intelligence and integrity all we can say is, the partaker is as bad as the thief." If the editor of the Old School Democrat did not assist in burning a negro alive, in 1836, in St. Louis, it might have been for the reason, that he was engaged in a less conspicuous job in the gutter!
