We feel that if our premise is sound and our logic solid then we can rest assured this research will stand on its own merits. A solid foundation will lead other researchers to find additional corroborating evidences which in turn will lead to ever more supporting and confirming evidences that will validate and substantiate this work. We do not claim to be the only ones with this line of thinking and welcome any and all who want to further explore this rapidly growing body of North American evidences.

Summary: Throughout Prophecies and Promises, Porter and Meldrum discuss how they believed 36 prophetic promises can be used to identify the setting of the Book of Mormon as occuring in the American Heartland. They propose that the United States of America is the promised land and therefore, the Book of Mormon occurred there.
