A long time ago, in a galaxy called midtown, Paul Simon took Carrie Fisher on a date to Studio 54. “We had met in L.A.,” Fisher recalled recently. “Paul was with Shelley Duvall, and I was with the producer of ‘Star Wars,’ a Quaker named Gary Kurtz. I really missed out on that action.”
