The Mormons pretend to have discovered a new book, called the "Book of Abraham," and purporting to have been written by that respectable gentleman, thought not known heretofore as an author; it is said to have been found in the catacombs of Egypt by an English traveller, who brought it away with eleven mummies. That profound scholar and oriental linguist, Joe Smith, is engaged in translating the work for "The Times and Seasons," the organ of the sect. No doubt the faith of the latter day saints will be greatly strengthened by this new discovery. — Cong. Observer.
