20 Oct. 1788–21 Apr. 1856. Born in Becket, Berkshire Co., Massachusetts. Daughter of Ebenezer Kingsley and Sarah Chaplin. Moved to New Haven, New Haven Co., Connecticut, by 1807. Married first John Howe, 7 Dec. 1807, in New Haven. Moved to Cincinnati, by 1826. Married second John Cleveland, 10 June 1826, in Cincinnati. Moved to Quincy, Adams Co., Illinois, 1834. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, likely in Quincy. Housed Emma Smith and Smith children after Saints were driven from Missouri, Feb.–May 1839. Sold Quincy land to Emma Smith, 29 Sept. 1841. Moved to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, 1842. Appointed counselor to Emma Smith in Female Relief Society of Nauvoo, 17 Mar. 1842. Identified in some sources as a plural wife of JS. Moved from Nauvoo, ca. May 1843. Moved to Plymouth, Hancock Co., 1846, where she died.
