11 Feb. 1800–19 Dec. 1875. Farmer, mason, stonecutter. Born in New Brunswick, Canada. Son of Martin Snyder and Sarah Armstrong. Married Mary Heron, 28 Feb. 1822. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1836, at Toronto. Stockholder in Kirtland Safety Society. Ordained a priest, before 1837. Served mission to England, 1837. Moved to Far West, Caldwell Co., Missouri, 18 July 1838. Ordained a seventy, 19 Jan. 1839, in Far West. Moved to Hancock Co., Illinois, by 1840. Member of Nauvoo House Association. Appointed guard in Nauvoo Legion, Mar. 1841. Served mission to United Kingdom, 1842–1843. Died in Salt Lake City.
