As new intelligence officers complete their mandatory schooling and required on-the-job training, those few who are eventually selected for actual covert assignments are sometimes faced with a peculiar dilemma--dutifully fulfilling the operational mission while remaining true to their religious convictions. During my early years of intelligence work, I, too, found it difficult to reconcile my beliefs with certain mission requirements and with being a totally effective agent.
