There have been, however, periods of time when women were silenced in their speech and it was not permitted unto them to speak in churches, but in these latter days, especially since the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was organized, women have come into their own. This great change, giving women their place in world's history, where they stand side by side with men, had its beginning since 1842, when the Relief Society was organized, a benevolent organization to help the poor, the needy and the downtrodden.
