Noah was a man peculiarly favoured of Heaven and blessed with a foreknowledge of that deluge which baptised the earth for the cleansing away of the corruptions under which it was groaning, and swept from its surface the wicked generation contemporary with him. We have no account of his having received any assistance, except from his own family, in constructing the ark in which they were preserved.
