Closed orders ab[o]ut 12 [a.m.]. ready to retire— ab[o]ut El[e]ven a negro came into my officce— with an open letter with[o]ut date or name— said R D <​dr​> Foster gave it him at [Fort] Madison.— to give Norton.— in that Foster said Dunhm & Richrads swore in presen[c]e of Joseph th[e]y would kill him— Fostr in two days— & a man at Madis[o]n— would swear he hea[r]d them say so at Josph house
