Transcription

For a time she [Lucy Mack Smith] derived a little income from the exhibition of some mummies and the papyrus records found with them, which had been left in her care by the Church for this purpose. But after a time she parted with the mummies and records; how, the writer is not informed, though he afterwards saw two of the mummies and a part of the records in Wood's Museum in Chicago, where they were destroyed in 1871.
