William Smith, Letter to James J. Strang, December 14, 1846, [1], James Jesse Strang Collection, Yale University Library
. . . To remove us it will require [illegible strikeout] <7> teams, and one extra carriage for Mother Smith [Lucy Mack Smith] to ride in she is quite feeble and I feel anxious that she may be removed to V[o]ree and see the Prophet [James Strang] before that she is—gathered to the Land of her fathers[.] The mummies & records are with us and will be of benifit to the Church.
