We were invited to the house of an elderly gentleman, who showed us every possible courtesy; and after supper were introduced to Mr. Smith the prophet. Suffice it to say we were agreeably disappointed in his person, appearance, and manners. He seemed to be very sociable and ready in conversation upon any subject. Upon his warm solicitation, we spent the night at his house. The morning was spent in examining some very curious ancient records found with a number of mummies in good preservation, in ancient Thebes. The contain some very curious representations.
