Joseph committed unto them all the keys of the priesthood otherwise the fulness would not have been upon the earth now he is taken away. He also took them through all the ordinances which is necessary for the salvation of man. Now they having experienced them all, by passing through them, might be prepared to lead the People in the path which they had trod. when he had finished his work ordained and annointed [sic] the brethren to lead this people and build upon the foundation which he had laid he was filled with joy I sayed [sic] he it is now but now it is little matter what becomes of me. When on his way to Carthage he said "I go as a lamb to the slaughter, but I go innocent, calm, and serene as the summer's morning." From many things which he said and did it is evident that the new and everlasting period had arrived; that his exit was near at hand, for he said "I will die for this people" and has gone to minister not only on earth but in heaven, and under the earth.
