(1.) a man, Lat. home; collect. men; often with some accessory idea; as other men; common or wicked men; men of inferior rank, when opposed to אִישׁ or שָׂרִים; also slaves or dependents; soldiers. (2.) rarely a man, Lat. vir. (3.) any one. (4.) pr. name of the first man, unless it be more properly rendered as an appellative, the man.
