The next morning early we gathered on prairy ridge that I have spoken off where we fired the cannon several times, this ridge is as high as the timber on either side from here. The report of the gun could be herd at a great distance. On this ridge a short distance from where we fired the gun, is a pile of rock about two feet high and ten or twelve feed broad which is said to be the altar where Adam offered up his sacrifice at the time that he called all his sons together and blessed them in the latter days. And the Holy Ghost rested upon them, and they rose up and called him Michael, and he offered sacrifice to the Most High, as recorded in the Book of Mormon.
