B[righam] Young—rose in capacity of a Teacher in Israel—of which I av tried to teach the wa[y] of life & Salv[atio]n—& walk therein—man is subject to be operated upon by the various incidents of human life—to whom r committed the Keys of life & Sal[vatio]n. I ave tho[ugh]t & reflected & lived for my individual self—I supposed Fat[he]r Adam transgressed the law designedly—he understands the plan of Salv[atio]n & to whom were committed the whole superintendance of this Earth—I dont ask any man to bel[ieve] or disbel[iev]e it, or let it fall—let every mean search the Scrip[tures] for himself—with an eye of penetration & with humility ask him who has pledged himself that he will withhold no good thing from them that serve him—when I behold the handiwork of God among men—the invisible & that overruleth all things—& the planets & starry heavens—I might call Him a Man of War—the Eternal Fat[her]—God—I am that I am—there is same Char[acter] that holds the destinies of all men till the winding up scene when the Earth has filled up the measure if its creation—He is the char[acter] for us to serve, love, & become acquainted with—the gen[eratio]ns of men r numbered—we r subjected to the same prin[ciple] of pains & fear & suffering & pain—I say marvel not at the dealings of the Al[mighty]—we ave the same Fa[ther]—Mediator with him—& av all the same darkness to content with
