Summary

The case is described of a 40-year-old 100% homo-sexual treated by aversion therapy. The results fulfil the criteria of cure as defined by Hadfield. The treatment is brief, is in no way analytical, and can be adapted to the individual patient. Although the period of follow-up is comparatively short, the patient's heterosexual attraction is increasing with time rather than decreasing, and it would be easy to give a "booster" course of treatment should he show signs of relapse. The method depends very largely on the co-operation of the patient and his desire to be rid of his homosexual feelings. In his case other methods of treatment had completely failed.
