The great divergence of these doctrines from those held by the Jews and by Christians is patent, and its tendency to materialism in all things religious is shown by the tendency to explain things Divine by things human. . . . It is taught that He [God] eats, drinks, loves and hates, and lives in the planet "Kolb" (whether this is one of the lost Pleiades, or a planet yet to be discovered, does not seem to have been yet revealed").
